đź’ˇ Since classes are syncing with Schoology, no class code or invite link will be generated, and students cannot be manually added to the classes.Â
🍎 The Schoology integration is currently available exclusively for Premium users. Learn more about NoRedInk Premium here!
Sync with Schoology
âť— NoRedInk must be added as an External Tool in your Schoology portal. This setup must be completed by your school's Schoology admin before you can begin rostering with Schoology.Â
To begin rostering your students with Schoology, you'll first need to create a NoRedInk assignment in Schoology for your students to open. NoRedInk classes will be automatically created for each section assigned to a NoRedInk assignment in Schoology. To begin creating a NoRedInk assignment from Schoology, you can follow these steps:
- In Schoology, navigate to the course and section for which you want to create a NoRedInk assignment, and select the Add materials drop-down.
- Select NoRedInk.
- The first time you access NoRedInk through Schoology, you'll be asked to either sign up for a NoRedInk account or log into your existing NoRedInk account to connect to Schoology.
âť—You can only sync your classes from one integration at a time! If you start syncing classes from a different integration, your Schoology classes will be automatically archived.
Log in to an Existing NoRedInk Account
If you are already logged in to your NoRedInk account, you will see a welcome screen in Schoology that will ask you to confirm that you would like to proceed with connecting the two accounts. Select Yes, use this account to finalize connecting the two accounts.
Â
If you are not currently logged into your NoRedInk account, you'll be able to log in with either Google, Clever Single-Sign-On, or an email and password.Â
Sign up for a NoRedInk Account
If you have never used NoRedInk before, you'll need to sign up for a teacher account. When you access NoRedInk through Schoology, select Sign up as an educator on the Welcome screen to begin creating your account. You can follow the steps in this article to finish creating your teacher account!
Activate Premium
If your NoRedInk account is associated with your Premium school, you should automatically have access to all Premium content when the school year begins!
If you receive a message that your account is not currently using Premium, you'll need to enter your school's Premium code. You can retrieve this code from your school or department admin, and then enter it in the field. After this, select Activate Premium to confirm.
Add Students to a Schoology-Synced Class
Once you've connected your NoRedInk and Schoology accounts, you'll need to create your first assignment in Schoology for your classes and students to appear in NoRedInk! Students are automatically rostered into their NoRedInk class when they first access a NoRedInk assignment through Schoology directly. Â
đź’ˇ Since the classes are coming from Schoology, no class code or invite link will be generated and students cannot be manually added to the classes.
Ready to add your students? You can provide the following article to your students to help them join your class: Join a Schoology-Synced Class. Once students log in or sign up for NoRedInk and connect their accounts to Schoology, they'll be automatically enrolled in your class, and they can begin working on their assignments!
After students have joined those Schoology-synced classes, they should automatically populate in NoRedInk. A Schoology icon will display next to the name of the class on the teacher dashboard and the Manage Classes page to indicate that it's syncing directly from Schoology.
đź’ˇ If students are signing up for NoRedInk for the first time, they'll be prompted to select interests before they can begin their assignment. You can learn more about interests here!
Â
🍎 Once you've completed this initial rostering with Schoology, any additional students will need to be manually added and synced via Schoology. Check out this article to learn how to manage students in Schoology-synced classes!
