- Using the Standards & Tests page
Now that you're familiar with the available assignment types, let's learn how to create NoRedInk assignments in Schoology!
Create an Assignment
β NoRedInk must be added as an External Tool in your Schoology portal. This setup must be completed by your school's Schoology admin before you can begin rostering with Schoology.Β
- In Schoology, navigate to the course and section for which you want to create a NoRedInk assignment, and select the Add materials drop-down.
- Select NoRedInk.
- You'll be prompted to either sign up for a NoRedInk account or log into your existing NoRedInk account to begin creating an assignment.
- If you are already logged into your NoRedInk account, you'll be prompted to confirm that you'd like to connect to that account.Β
- On the next page, you'll be presented with two options: Browse our Assignment LibraryΒ or use a link shared by another teacher to make a copy of that assignment.Β
Selecting Browse Library will direct you to the NoRedInk Assignment Library. Here you can build new assignments, preview assignments to pre-teach students, as well as create assignments aligned with state standards and tests. For more detailed guidance on assignment creation, check out these resources:
- Browse and create assignments from the Assignment Library
- Create standards-aligned assignments in NoRedInk
- After you've selected the assignment, you'll be brought to the assignment's edit form to add the assignment's name, due date, and total points.Β
- Once you've finished adding that information, you'll select Create assignment.
- You'll be brought back into Schoology, and you'll select Edit in the drop-down for the assignment.
- Verify that the Name and Points have been correctly transferred from NoRedInk to Schoology.Β
- Fill in these additional required fields:
- Category (This is required to ensure your grades sync with Schoology.)
- Availability & Due Dates
π‘ To prevent student confusion, make sure the due dates in Schoology match exactly what you selected on the NoRedInk assignment screen. This ensures students see consistent deadlines across both platforms!
- When you've finished, select Save Changes.
- After saving the assignment, you must select the assignment and allow the results page to appear on the NoRedInk window. A pencil icon will spin on the assignment, and the assignment's results page will appear when it's finished.
βοΈ If your students receive the following error: "This assignment is not ready to be worked on yet. Please ask your teacher to access it on their end to ensure everything has been set up correctly," return to the assignment, select it, and allow the results page to load.Β
