If you've manually created your NoRedInk classes and your students are unable to create their own accounts, you can manually create accounts on their behalf to help them join your class! We only recommend adding students manually if they cannot sign up for NoRedInk on their own and if they do not already have an active NoRedInk account. You can follow these steps to add your students manually:
- Select Manage Classes at the top of your teacher dashboard.
- Select the class you'd like to add students to from the class list on the left side of the page.
- If you're adding students for the first time, select My students are unable to sign up for their own accounts, so I need to create accounts for them under the Student section.
- If you already have students in the class, you'll select Add students to view that option.
- On the window that appears, you'll enter the student's first name and last name in the empty fields.
- Select Add student when you're finished adding their information. This will create a brand new account for each student you add.
- You can enter multiple students at once before saving by selecting Add student after adding their information. Select Done adding when you're finished creating their accounts.
- Once the accounts are created, students won't need a class code or invite since they'll be added directly to your class.
You'll need to let your students know their usernames and passwords for them to log in and complete their account creation. By default, the password for all students added will be your class code with the spaces included.
- Students will be prompted to change that default password to a more secure one when they first log into their account. Students will need to ensure that their new passwords adhere to our password security requirements!
🍎 Ready to add your students? You can provide the following article to your students to help them join your class: Join a Class with a Username and Password. When students sign in to NoRedInk via the username and password you provided, their account will be automatically enrolled in your class, and they can begin working on their assignments!
💡 Want an easy way to distribute your students' usernames and passwords? You can select Print login cards on the Manage Classes page to print out login cards that can be shared with students to provide their login information
