Overview
If you are a new student using NoRedInk, this guide will show you how to create your account and find your assignments.

Before getting started, we recommend watching this short video tour of NoRedInk to get a sense of how you'll use the site.
Step 1: Join your class

Note: If your teacher did not provide you with instructions for how join their NoRedInk class, be sure to check with them first to make sure you sign up correctly.
My teacher gave me an invite link
If your teacher gave you an invite link to join NoRedInk, follow the instructions below. An invite link will look something like this: https://www.noredink.com/join/class-code-5
- Open the link in a web browser
Click on the invite link OR copy and paste the URL address in your browser address bar.
- Log in or sign up for a NoRedInk account
If you're already logged in to a NoRedInk account, you'll automatically join the class. Otherwise, you'll see a welcome page like this one:
- If you've used NoRedInk before, you can log in to your existing account.
- If you don't have an account yet, go ahead and click "Sign up as a student" to create a new account.
đź’ˇ Tip: If you have a Google account, you can choose the "Sign up with Google" option. This will let you log in with Google the next time you sign in to NoRedInk.
- Save your login information
It's important to use the same account throughout the school year to make sure that that all your hard work in NoRedInk remains in one account.
If you signed up with Google, you'll be able to click "Log in with Google." Otherwise, be sure to remember your username/email address and unique NoRedInk password so you know how to log back in next time!
The next time you log in to NoRedInk, you can do so from www.noredink.com.
My teacher gave me a class code
If your teacher gave you a class code to join NoRedInk, follow the instructions below. A class code will look something like this: class code 5
1. Log in or sign up for a NoRedInk account
If you already have an account, log back in at www.noredink.com/login.
If you still need an account, sign up for a new account at www.noredink.com/signup. Be sure to sign up as a student.

If you accidentally skip this step during sign up or if you are joining a class in your existing account, you can always enter the class code from your "My Classes" page after you are logged in.

My teacher gave me a username and password to use
If your teacher created an account for you, they should have shared the username and default password you'll be able to use to log in. In this case, you will not need to sign up for a new NoRedInk account and you will not need to enter a class code to join the class.
Simply use the username and password to log in to NoRedInk and finish setting up your new account. Your account will already be enrolled in your teacher's class.
1. Log in to your NoRedInk account
First, go to www.noredink.com, click "Log in with password"and enter the username and default password that your teacher gave you. Then, click "Log in."
Update your password and save your login information
You can update the default password to a unique password from your "Account Settings" page. To get there, click on your name in the top right corner and choose "Settings."
It's important to use the same account throughout the school year to make sure that that all your hard work in NoRedInk remains in one account.

I need to join my NoRedInk class via Canvas
If your classroom uses Canvas to access classroom apps like NoRedInk, you will first need to connect your NoRedInk account with Canvas (or log in via Canvas). After this is done, you will be automatically enrolled in your teacher's NoRedInk courses.

What if I already have a NoRedInk account?
If you have already signed up for NoRedInk, you can use these directions to log in to your existing account. If you're having trouble logging in to your account, check out this article for more tips to get up and running!
Step 2: Select your interests
These characters and names will be used in the practice questions you see on NoRedInk.
- Scroll through the different interests and click to select your favorites. You’ll see the green progress bar fill up as you select more interests!
- Once the green progress bar is full you can click "Continue" to be taken to your new NoRedInk account.

Step 3: Find your assignments
You will see your assignments listed on your home page each time you log in. Assignments will be listed in order based on their due date which is listed below the assignment’s name. The assignment that's due soonest will appear at the top of the list in blue.
To begin your assignment, or to pick up where you left off, click the blue or white assignment box.
💡 Enrolled in multiple NoRedInk classes? By default, you’ll see the assignments across all your classes. You can filter your assignments by class using the dropdown menu.
If you have any assignments that are past due, you will see them outlined in purple below your current assignments. You can click “View more assignments” to view all assignments late assignments still accepting work.
Why can’t I find my teacher’s assignments?
- If you have completed all assigned work, or if the assignment is past due and doesn’t allow late work, you will not see any assignments on your homepage. If your teacher has created an assignment but it is not showing on your homepage, we recommend checking in with your teacher directly. They can check that you've been assigned the correct work and that the due date has not yet passed.
- If you have completed all of their assignments but would like to level up your skills even more, you can practice topics independently! Note that completing independent practice will not contribute to progress in assigned work. Check out this article for more information about practicing on your own.
Step 4: View your grades
Once you’ve completed your assignments, you may want to check your grades. To view your submitted work and results, click “Past Work” at the top of your home page.
Your grade is reflected in the circle next to the assignment name. If you have not yet started an assignment you’ll see a blank gray circle.
- Click “View Writing” to see your writing, grading details, and your teacher’s feedback.
- Click “View Answers” to see results on a quiz or diagnostic alongside an answer key.
- Click “View Summary” to see your score and the questions you missed on the assignment.
