Now that you've assigned a Practice, let's take a look at what students experience while completing the assignment!
What do students see during a Practice?
When students open their Practice assignment, they will see the assignment's pathway, where topics are organized by level. If the teacher has selected topics from multiple pathways, students will need to select the first available unlocked topic and can get started answering questions after selecting the play button.
While they work, students will come across a variety of question types. These questions incorporate their selected interests to encourage engagement in the assignment.
💡 If students have already mastered topics you've included in this assignment, they will be presented with a Refresher Quiz on those topics before seeing the assignment pathway.
Instant feedback and remediation
When students get a question wrong, they receive instant feedback, as well as a lesson, to help them understand their mistakes.
Students will then enter a remediation mode where they must answer 2 similar questions correctly in a row to return to the assignment. If students need a quick reminder of how to answer a question, they can select the lightbulb icon at the bottom of their assignment to see a hint.
Completing the assignment
The remaining assigned topics will unlock as students master the ones before. Students will be able to track their mastery progress for the topic they're working on with the star icons, as well as the current number of questions left to answer correctly before leveling up with the colored bar.
Progress is saved automatically once a question is submitted, so students can exit their assignment at any time. They can also return to the assignment pathway to check their overall progress in the assignment. The topic icons will adjust to show the current mastery progress in the assignment.
A Practice assignment is complete when all topics in an assignment are mastered. A mastered topic is represented by a green checkmark.
❗ For Practice assignments that include a Checkpoint, students can access it at the bottom of the assignment. This checkpoint allows students to potentially skip topics by demonstrating mastery through more challenging questions.
Reviewing their results
If students want to review their question history from the Practice assignment, they can revisit the assignment by navigating to the Past Work page. After selecting their Practice, they will select the ellipsis next to the topic they mastered to open the drop-down menu and then select Review past questions.
If students want to review their question history from topics they practiced either in assigned Practice or during independent practice, they can do this from the Learn page. Check out this article to learn how students view their results!
