Now that you’ve learned about our Writing Portfolios and how they can showcase your students’ work, let’s learn how to view those submissions!
❗ Writing Portfolios are not visible within Canvas or Schoology. You will need to open NoRedInk in a separate tab to view them!
To view your students’ Writing Portfolios, you can follow these steps:
- Navigate to the Student Data page.
- Select the Writing Portfolios tab.
- Select a student’s name to view their Portfolio.
💡 You can also select any of your students’ names from the Grades tab of the Student Data page to reach their Portfolio.
Your view of a student's Portfolio always opens by default to a filtered view of all the work the student has featured. If the student has no Featured work, the view simply includes all the student's published work.
- You can toggle between the Featured Portfolio Pieces, Published Portfolio Pieces, and Unpublished Portfolio Pieces view to filter submission results by selecting the Status drop-down.
- The Featured view shows only featured submissions.
- The Published view shows everything published to the Portfolio (Featured or not).
- The Unpublished view won't show any submissions but will alert the teacher to how many unpublished pieces the student has and encourage them to follow up with the student if needed in order to encourage publishing.
- Select a card to see the submission’s full text. Portfolio writing submissions display in a modal showing only the text and a View More button.
📖 If you're the teacher who originally created the assignment, you can access the graded view, including all submitted drafts using Version history. If this wasn't an assignment you created, you can only view the student's writing.
- Select the View More button on the Portfolio writing submission modal to open the submission's original assignment view.
