β The ability to create Benchmarks requires access to our Admin Tools. Check out this article to learn how to gain administrator access in NoRedInk!
Once you've decided that Skills Benchmarks are aligned with your school or district's educational goals for the year, you can follow these steps to create a Skills Benchmark!
- After receiving administrative access in NoRedInk, log in to your account and select Admin Tools at the top of your dashboard.Β
- Select Skills Benchmark on the left-hand side and then select Create new Skills Benchmark.
- On the following page, you can administer either a pre-made standards-aligned Benchmark or create a custom-made Benchmark.Β
- You can select the gear icon next to a pre-made Benchmark to view which standards are prioritized on each or customize the content to your needs.Β
- After choosing a pre-made or creating your own, you'll select the schools that will be administered the Benchmark. You can also adjust the total number of questions students will experience.
- Once finished, select Finalize Benchmark.
- On the final page, you'll fill out the remaining fields to finalize your Benchmark. You'll enter:
- The name of the Benchmark
- The grade level of the Benchmark
- The open and close dates of the initial Benchmark
π We recommend scheduling the open date for 1-2 weeks after the school year starts to allow for schedule changes! We also recommend scheduling the administration window for at least 2 weeks to allow all students to complete the Benchmark.
- You can also create a follow-up Benchmark to measure growth on the same topics as the initial Benchmark. This is optional, and you can always schedule a follow-up at a later date!
- When you've finished finalizing the Benchmark, select Send to teachersΒ at the bottom of the page.Β
Once it's sent out to teachers, the Benchmark will appear as a recommendation in the Assignment Library and their teacher dashboard 3 weeks before the administration window opens.Β
β If any teachers are not seeing the recommendation on their account, please ensure that they have the appropriate grade levels set on their Manage Classes page in NoRedInk!Β
