NoRedInk allows you to practice topics without your teacher having to assign you work! When you practice independently, you'll earn progress toward Mastery just like you do with teacher assignments. This is perfect for:
- Reviewing topics you've already learned
- Getting extra practice in areas where you need more confidence
- Exploring new grammar concepts you're curious about
❗If you start practicing a topic that your teacher has already assigned to you, NoRedInk will let you know first. This way, you can decide whether to continue with your independent practice or work on your assigned task instead.
Accessing the Learn page
To begin practicing on your own, you'll head to the Learn page at the top of your student dashboard. This will allow you to view and search through NoRedInk's pathways to find topics to practice.
💡 A "Pathway" is how we describe a group of topics that all teach a similar or connected set of skills.
Once you select a Pathway, you'll see different smaller topics listed that are all related to a similar skill. If you haven't started working on a topic yet, you'll see a play button and no stars under the topic's name.
If you select the ellipsis icon at the end of the topic, you'll see a few options!
- You can view a Lesson on the topic to learn about the topic first.
- Select the topic itself to begin progressing toward Mastery.
- Once you've started answering questions, you can select Review past questions to see the questions you've come across.
- When you've fully mastered a topic, you can select Quiz Me to receive a 10-question quiz to test your skills!
Additionally, once you've started progressing towards Mastery of a topic, you'll see your current level indicated by stars under the title of the topic, as shown here:
Topics that have been fully mastered will display a green circle with a white checkmark in the middle!
