NoRedInk allows you to practice topics and earn progress towards Mastery on your own, without your teacher having to assign you work! This is a great way to brush up on topics you've worked on before, as well as practice new grammar questions in areas you'd like to gain some more knowledge on.
Note: Practicing topics independently will progress your Mastery level in the same way that practice assigned by your teacher will. If you begin practice independently on a topic that your teacher has already assigned, we'll let you know beforehand so you can choose if you'd like to instead work on your assignment!
Accessing the Learn page
Clicking "Learn" at the top of your screen will allow you to view and search for different pathways within NoRedInk that contain topics available for practice. You can use the search bar to find different topics, or click into the Pathways listed in order to browse manually.
A "Pathway" is how we describe a group of topics that all teach a similar or connected set of skills.
Once you click on a Pathway, you'll see different smaller topics listed that are all related to a similar skill. If you haven't started working on a topic yet, you'll see a blue circle with "Begin" above the topic title.
After clicking on the colored circle, you'll see a few options! You can view a Lesson on the topic or click on Practice to begin progressing towards Mastery. Once you've started answering questions, you can click History in order to see the questions you've come across. When you've fully Mastered a topic, you can click Quiz Me to receive a 10 question quiz to test your skills!
Additionally, once you've started progressing towards Mastery on a topic, you'll see your current level indicated by stars on the circle, as shown here:
Topics that have been fully mastered will display a green circle with a white checkmark in the middle!
