Now that you’ve learned how students can master writing and grammar skills through Practice assignments in NoRedInk, here’s how you can get started creating and assigning one by following the steps below!
- Head to our Assignment Library by selecting Browse & Assign at the top of your dashboard.
- Under Assignment Types, select Practice.
- On the next page, you can browse any of our skill categories or search for a specific topic with the search bar at the top. You can also filter topics by recommended grade level!
- Select the check box next to the topics that you want to include in the assignment.
At the bottom of the page, you'll see the total number of topics you've selected and an estimated time it should take students to complete the assignment. We recommend assigning no more than 2-4 topics per Practice assignment per week.
- Select the arrow button next to Assign as Practice to move to the final page.
- On the final page, you'll be able to select which class(es) you want to receive the assignment, set a start and due date, and create a name for the assignment.
- Optionally, differentiate Practice assignments by selecting individual students or groups of students from the drop-down menu.
Because Practice is adaptive, the difficulty of questions and the length of an assignment automatically adjust as students work. You will be unable to select the number of questions students receive.
- Once you’ve finalized the assignment, select Assign.
Once you create an assignment, you will be able to add new students who join your class to existing assignments, but you won't be able to unselect students who have already been assigned.
