Now that you understand how NoRedInk Quizzes can be used to evaluate student learning, let's learn how to create one!
To create a Quiz, you can follow these steps:
- Head to our Assignment Library by selecting Browse & Assign at the top of your screen.
- Under Assignment Types, select Assessment.
- On the next page, select Quiz.
- On the next page, you can browse any of our skill categories or search for a specific topic with the search bar at the top. You can also filter topics by recommended grade level!
- Select the check box next to the topics that you'd like to test your students on.
At the bottom of the page, you'll see the total number of topics you've selected and an estimated time it should take students to complete the assignment.
💡 We recommend choosing topics within a single skill area (Pathway) to keep your students and their data focused. For example, you would create a quiz using only topics from the Active and Passive Voice Pathway.
- Select the arrow button next to Assign as Quiz to move to the final page.
- On the final page, you'll be able to select which class you want to receive the assignment, set a start and due date, and create a name for the assignment.
You can assign to the whole class by checking the box next to your class name, or assign to individual students by expanding the Choose Students drop-down menu and selecting specific names.
You can also adjust the number of questions or scramble the question order. Keep in mind that adjusting the number of questions will impact the estimated time the assignment will take for students to complete.
- Once you’ve finalized the assignment, select Assign.
Once you create an assignment, you will be able to add new students who join your class to existing assignments, but won't be able to unselect students who have already been assigned.
