Need to hand over your NoRedInk account to a colleague? There are several scenarios in which you would need to transfer your account. Some of these include:
- When a long-term substitute needs to transfer the account to the returning permanent teacher
- When another teacher is taking over your classes mid-year
- Any situation where full account access needs to be transferred to a different educator
There are two ways you can easily transfer ownership! You can either transfer ownership through our co-teacher feature or replace your account information with the other teacher's. Check out the sections below to learn more.
❗ If you are rostering your students through an integration, you must have your school's administrator or IT department transfer ownership of the classes in that integration first before you can transfer ownership in NoRedInk.
Option 1: Transfer ownership through our co-teacher feature
As a teacher, you can grant other teachers access to specific classes in your account. Co-teachers are able to view and manage those specific classes. If you need to transfer ownership of your classes with a co-teacher, you can transfer ownership through our co-teaching feature.
You can use the following resource to learn more about our co-teaching feature and select the appropriate article based on your rostering method!
Once ownership has been transferred through the co-teaching feature, your colleague will now be the primary owner of the account and will see your classes and student data the next time they log in!
Option 2: Replace account information
If the co-teaching feature is not the right option for you and your colleague, you can replace your account information with your colleague's to grant them access to your account and students.
🍎 To transfer ownership, your colleague must ensure that they do not have an active NoRedInk as the same email cannot be associated with more than one account.
To replace your account information with your colleague's, you can follow these steps:
- Select the silhouette icon at the top right of your teacher dashboard.
- In the drop-down menu that appears, select Account Settings.
- Navigate to the Personal Info section of your Account Settings.
- On the Personal Info page, you'll update the following information to that of the new teacher:
- Title
- First name
- Last name
- Time zone
💡 If you are using a single-sign-on login method, such as Google or Clever, you will also need to disconnect those accounts to let the new teacher log in. You can learn how to disconnect your NoRedInk account from an integration or single-sign-on in this article!
- You'll then navigate to the Password section of your Account Settings to create a temporary password to allow the new teacher to log in.
- After you've changed all personal information to your colleague and provided them with the temporary password, they can then log into NoRedInk and make any necessary adjustments, such as updating their password or adding a single-sign-on method for future logins.
