NoRedInk Premium Is Required
To begin integrating NoRedInk with Schoology, an active Premium license is required. You can learn more about Premium here!
Sign up or log in to NoRedInk
Teachers and students must sign up and log in to NoRedInk directly through Schoology. This is to ensure that users are connecting the correct accounts and help avoid rostering issues.
Roster Creation
Roster creation in NoRedInk using Schoology is a two-step process, with both steps needing to be completed for a student to be rostered:
- The teacher must create an assignment via Schoology, utilizing the external tool option, and assign the assignment in Schoology.
- The student must access the assignment via Schoology to become rostered in NoRedInk.
Depending on the class setup within Schoology and how that data is sent to NoRedInk, the teacher who creates an assignment and has a student access the assignment first becomes the primary teacher for that course. All subsequent teachers in that course become secondary teachers and must utilize our co-teaching feature to see their rosters.
Roster Management
Our integration with Schoology will both add and remove students who have been moved around on your rosters. Teachers' rosters are automatically updated the next time a student accesses a NoRedInk assignment through Schoology.
Gradebook Sync
Our integration with Schoology supports passing the grade for an assignment completed via the integration to the Schoology grade book. The following help documents outline the supported assignment types and when and how the grade is sent to Schoology.
Demographic Data Syncing
Demographic data syncing is not shared when integrating with Schoology.
Student Grade Level Syncing
Class and student grade levels are not shared between Schoology and NoRedInk. Teachers will need to manually add their grade levels to their classes on their Manage Classes page.
Co-Teacher Support
Schoology co-teachers are automatically added to the specific class they assist with once they connect and begin syncing Schoology with NoRedInk.
