What is Remediation?
At the end of a Unit Diagnostic or Quiz, students receive their scores and are prompted to go through remediation to correct any questions they answered incorrectly. This remediation step exists as a safeguard to ensure that students don't walk away from the assignment with any misconceptions!
Β
Teachers can rest assured that our engine has already recorded the student's score on his or her first attempt. A student's score on an assignment does not change based on remediation. Remediation is not required for the Unit Diagnostic or Quiz/Growth Quiz to be considered complete.
π‘ Passage-based quizzes also have a remediation exercise, but students are required to finish it in order to complete the assignment.
How do students access remediation?
When a student completes a Unit Diagnostic or Quiz, they are immediately shown their score and prompted to fix their errors.
If students answer a question incorrectly during remediation, they receive a hint and the option to try a similar problem. If they continue to struggle, they can skip to the next question by selecting I'm stuck.
Once students have completed their remediation, teachers can view those results and interpret those results to drive their instructional choices. You can learn how to view remediation results here!
