What is the Assignment Library?
In the Assignment Library, you'll be able to browse, preview, and create assignments for your classes. To access the Assignment Library, press the "Browse & Assign" button at the top of your page.
NoRedInk's writing and grammar curriculum is organized in the Assignment Library under three sections: Practice, Writing, and Assessment. You can select a section to explore relevant activities and topics.
When you choose Practice or select one of the Assessment activities, you'll be able to select topics to build your assignment.
In the Writing section, you'll select the activity you want to use and can start building your assignment by selecting pre-made prompts and writing genres (currently available for Quick Writes and Guided Drafts only).

Writing
Quick Write | Students respond to a prompt with optional sources and rubric items. Great for applying new writing skills and low-stakes writing practice! |
Guided Draft | Students draft an essay with the support of tutorials, model essays, and targeted tips. Great for essays in different genres and teacher-support revision! |
Peer Review | Students submit part of an essay for structured anonymous feedback from their peers. Great for building feedback skills and targeted revision! |
Self Review | Students review and revise an essay they have already drafted. Great for student-directed revision! |

Planning Diagnostic | Plan your semester with an overview of your class’s strengths and weaknesses. |
Unit Diagnostic | Start each unit with a baseline you can use to measure growth. |
Quiz | Evaluate students’ understanding with a graded assessment. |
Passage Quiz | Assess grammar skills in context with a multi-paragraph passage. |
State Standards and Test Alignment
In the Standards & Tests section of the Assignment Library, you can browse and assign NoRedInk topics and activities by state and national standards, as well as by grade level.

How do I preview topics and activities?
As you browse through activities and topics in the Assignment Library, keep an eye out for the following icons that you can click on to preview tutorials, lessons, and questions for individual topics.
- Select the footprints icon to see a preview of the "Interactive Tutorial" for the topic, if one is available. You can check out our library of interactive tutorials!
- Select the page icon to view the sample lesson associated with the topic.
- Select the eye icon to preview the assignment as a student.
