Overview
If your school or district is using NoRedInk with Schoology, this article will answer some common questions you might have.
Schoology integration is currently available for Premium users only. To learn more about NoRedInk Premium, click here.
Why are students missing from NoRedInk Class or Results Page?
If you're not seeing a student listed on your Results Page or in the NoRedInk Class, the student likely still needs to open a NoRedInk assignment from Schoology. Ask students to return to Schoology and open the assignment from their Schoology assignment list.Â
Once this is done, the student will be automatically enrolled in the correct class in NoRedInk. You’ll be able to see the student’s name in your NoRedInk class or Results Page and the student will be able to see their assignments in Schoology.
đź’ˇOpening assignments from www.noredink.com will not add students to their classes. They need to return to Schoology and open it from there.Â
How do my Schoology courses and sections get imported into NoRedInk?
NoRedInk classes will be automatically created for each section assigned to a NoRedInk assignment in Schoology.
Students are rostered into their NoRedInk class when they first access a NoRedInk assignment through Schoology.
If you give an assignment to an entire course in Schoology, NoRedInk classes will be created for each section within the course.
- Points will sync to NoRedInk when the assignment is created in Schoology. If you want to update the assignment points you must edit the points in both NoRedInk and Schoology.
For assignments created through Schoology, grades will automatically transfer from NoRedInk to Schoology as students complete their assignments.
When you view assignment grades in the Schoology gradebook, keep in mind that there are a few differences in how assignment scores are displayed as students work. The table has information about how to interpret student progress using the gradebook.

I reset or modified the score for a student in NoRedInk, but the grades did not get updated in Schoology. What can I do?
We only send grades from NoRedInk to Schoology when there is a new ”submission.” This includes things like students answering a question in a practice, quiz, or diagnostic, the teacher manually entering a grade or an automatic grade being given to the student upon the completion of a writing assignment.
If you’d like the reset or modified score to reflect in Schoology immediately, we ask that you update the score in Schoology as well. Otherwise the grades will be sent over the next time a “submission” occurs for that assignment.
Can we use Google SSO or Clever SSO to log in to NoRedInk through Schoology?
Yes! When you create a NoRedInk assignment in Schoology as a teacher or open a NoRedInk assignment in Schoology as a student, you will be prompted to either log in or sign up for a NoRedInk account if you're not already logged in.
Depending on how your account was set up, you can log in using an email address or username and a password, log in with an account already linked with Google, or log in with an account already linked with Clever.Â
Note: Clever rostering will be disabled when teachers log in through Schoology using an existing Clever-linked NoRedInk account. You will be able to continue using Clever single sign-on to log in, but rostering will be done through Schoology.
If you're new to NoRedInk, click "Sign up as a student" (students) or "Sign up as a teacher" (teachers) on the Welcome screen to create an account. On the next screen, choose how you would like to sign up.
Why am I viewing another teacher's NoRedInk account in Schoology (co-teacher)?
If you are being switched to another teacher’s NoRedInk account in Schoology, this means that you've been linked as a co-teacher since the course you are accessing already has a teacher set up as the course’s primary teacher.
You can use NoRedInk through Schoology while accessing the primary teacher’s account as the co-teacher. Any action you take occurs not as yourself but rather as the primary teacher.
The primary teacher is established when a teacher is first to link their NoRedInk account to the Schoology course. Subsequent teachers who link to the Schoology course are added as a co-teacher.
đź’ˇPrimary teachers can remove a co-teacher in their NoRedInk account at anytime. If the previous co-teacher accesses the course from Schoology again, they will be re-added as a co-teacher.
How can I share NoRedInk assignments with other teachers in Schoology?
There are two ways you can share a NoRedInk assignment with other teachers in Schoology.
1. You can share an assignment directly in Schoology. In Schoology, you can share individual assignments in your course with other teachers at your school.
2. You can create an assignment link using NoRedInk and share the link with other teachers.Â
Other teachers using Schoology can paste the link in the “Use Link” section when creating a NoRedInk assignment in Schoology.
How can I preview NoRedInk assignments as a student in Schoology?
You can preview an assignment by selecting a course, then clicking on Course Options, then selecting the View Course As option.
How do I delete my assignment?
To delete an assignment in Schoology, click the options icon next to an assignment, followed by "Delete".
Note: Deleting an assignment in Schoology does not delete the assignment from NoRedInk. Students will no longer see the assignment listed in their Schoology class, but will see the assignment if they log in to NoRedInk outside of Schoology. To delete the assignment in NoRedInk as well, follow these instructions:
- Open NoRedInk in a new tab.
- Click "My Assignments" at the top of the page.Â
- Choose the class for which you'd like to delete the assignment.Â
- Click the "more options" icon next to the assignment, followed by "Delete assignment".
Â
Make sure to navigate back to Schoology after deleting the assignment in NoRedInk!Â
