Overview
This article is for students that use Canvas to access NoRedInk. Unless notified otherwise by your teacher, you should always open your NoRedInk assignments from inside Canvas. Follow the steps below to get started with NoRedInk in Canvas.
You won't be able to see any assignments given to you in Canvas from www.noredink.com. Log in to your Canvas account to find these assignments.
Step 1. Open your NoRedInk assignments in Canvas
In the Navigation menu in Canvas, click on "Course" and select a specific course or "All Courses." Then, click on the "Assignments" link to view all your assignments.
Click on an assignment to open it. Your NoRedInk assignment will open inside Canvas, and you should complete it directly in Canvas.

Step 2. Connect your NoRedInk account with Canvas and join your class
If it's your first time being assigned a NoRedInk assignment by your teacher, opening your first assignment will enroll you in the teacher's NoRedInk class and connect your Canvas account with your NoRedInk account.
You may be asked to log in to NoRedInk or sign up if you don't have an account. Keep reading to learn more about logging in or signing up for NoRedInk from within Canvas.
Use an existing NoRedInk account
If you are already logged in to your NoRedInk account, you will see a welcome screen in Canvas that looks like the image below. To proceed with connecting your account with Canvas, click "Yes, use this account."
If you are not yet logged in to your NoRedInk account, you will be able to log in directly from Canvas after opening your class assignment.
Depending on how your account was set up, you can log in using an email address or username and a password, log in with an account already linked with Google, or log in with an account already linked with Clever. Click here to learn more about logging back in to a NoRedInk account.
Create a new NoRedInk account
If you do not yet have a NoRedInk account, you can click the "Sign up as a student" button on the Welcome screen to create a new account.
On the next screen, choose how you would like to sign up.
To link your account with Google or Clever to use single sign-on, select one of these options. Follow the prompts on the next screen to log in to your Google or Clever account.
Alternatively, you can create your own username and password to use for logging in.
Finish setting up by selecting your interests
These characters and names will be used in the practice questions you see on NoRedInk.
- Scroll through the different interests and click to select your favorites. You’ll see the green progress bar fill up as you select more interests!
- Once the green progress bar is full you can click "Continue" to be taken to your new NoRedInk account.

Step 3. View your grades
In the Navigation menu in Canvas, click on "Course" and select a specific course or "All Courses." Then, click on the "Grades" link to view your assignment grades.

How to update your Interests and Sources
Here's how you can update your Interests or Sources for NoRedInk through Canvas:
1. Open any NoRedInk assignment in Canvas.
2. Expand the ⌄ drop down menu next to "NoRedInk".
3. Select "Interests" or "Sources" to update either settings.
4. You'll see a message letting you know that you will need to update your Interests or Sources in www.noredink.com, outside of Canvas. Click "Continue in a new tab" to proceed.
5. Select your Interests or Sources.
6. When you are done, be sure to close the tab and then return to Canvas to work on your assignments. You should always start your assignments from Canvas.
How to practice topics on our own
If you want to practice topics on NoRedInk independently, here's how you can access the Learn page from Canvas:
1. Open any NoRedInk assignment in Canvas.
2. Expand the ⌄ drop down menu next to "NoRedInk".
3. Select "Learn".
4. You'll see a message letting you know that you will need to complete this action in www.noredink.com, outside of Canvas. Click "Continue in a new tab" to proceed.
5. Use the new tab to practice topics independently. Click here to learn more about practicing topics on your own.
6. When you are done, be sure to close the tab and then return to Canvas to work on your assignments. You should always start your assignments from Canvas.
