Overview
This article has information about using NoRedInk with Google Classroom. NoRedInk works with Google Classroom to make logging in and sharing assignments even easier:
- Students can log in using their Google accounts with Google Single Sign-on.
- Teachers can share assignment links directly to their Google Classroom.
NoRedInk does not sync rosters with Google Classroom or post grades from NoRedInk assignments in Google Classroom gradebooks.
Logging in with Google Single Sign-On
You can use a Google account to sign up for and log in to NoRedInk. If you are using Google Classroom, a student can sign up for NoRedInk using his or her existing Google account. This is one great way to avoid needing to remember an extra password!
Signing up for a new NoRedInk account with Google
To create a new NoRedInk account with a Google account, students and teachers just need to click the “Sign up with Google” button on the sign-up page.
Enabling Google SSO on an existing NoRedInk account
If students and teachers already have an existing NoRedInk account, they can use these directions to link to a Google account. Once you’ve linked your accounts, you can log in using the “Log in with Google” option.
How can I tell if a student should log in to their NoRedInk using Google?
You can check to see if a student's NoRedInk account has Google SSO enabled from your "Manage Classes" page.
A Google icon should appear next to the student's name if their accounts are connected, indicating they can log in to NoRedInk using Google. You can also hover over the icon to see the specific Google account linked.
Accounts not linked to an SSO account will need to use a username and password to log in. If you would like for students to be able to sign in to NoRedInk with a Google account, you can share these instructions so that they can link the existing account.
Sharing assignments on Google Classroom
💡Students will need their own NoRedInk accounts that are enrolled in your class in order to work on assignments you post in Google Classroom. Click here to learn how to add or invite students to NoRedInk.
