If your school or district is using NoRedInk with Clever for roster syncing and single sign-on, this article will answer some common questions you might have about accessing your account, rostering, and troubleshooting.

Account Access Questions
How do I log in if my school or district uses Clever?
Teachers and students will should log in to NoRedInk from Clever or your district's application portal. Both teacher and student NoRedInk accounts will need to be connected with Clever in order to enable Clever SSO and Clever-syncing.
Follow the instructions in this article to learn how to either set up a brand new NoRedInk account that is connected with Clever or how to connect your existing NoRedInk with Clever.
💡Your school/district might call your Clever portal by a unique name! If you’re not sure where to find your portal, ask your school technology contact.
What do I do if I linked my NoRedInk account to the wrong Clever account or vice versa?
If you accidentally linked your NoRedInk account to the wrong Clever account or you linked the wrong NoRedInk account with Clever, you can disconnect your accounts by following these steps:
- Click your name in the top right corner and click “Settings” to see your account settings.
- Click “Remove” under your associated Clever account.
Once the associated Clever account is removed, if necessary, you'll be able to link another Clever account.
Rostering Questions
Why are my students not showing in my class roster?
It's important that students connect their NoRedInk accounts with Clever. This is to ensure that students can use Clever SSO to log in to NoRedInk and that they are enrolled in their NoRedInk Clever-synced classes.
If you see a message in your "Manage Classes" page like the one below, it means that this # of students still need to log in and connect their accounts with Clever before they'll show up in your NoRedInk roster. You can share these instructions for how students can log in via Clever or connect their accounts with Clever.
If your student’s accounts are linked and they are still not showing up in the expected class, we recommend checking with your school Clever administrator to confirm the student is properly rostered in your SIS.
Clever automatically synchronizes your classes and rosters. You will not see a class code for Clever-synced classes. To see which of your classes are Clever-synced classes, look for the "Clever Secure Sync" icon:

If your student is being asked for a class code it is likely they haven’t linked their NoRedInk account with Clever yet. For students with shared devices, it’s also possible they are being directed to the wrong account.
- First, we recommend logging out of the account you're signed in to in order to make sure you end up connecting the correct NoRedInk account with Clever.
- Then, follow the steps in this article to log in via Clever or connect your account with Clever.
Why did my classes from last semester disappear?
Once your semester is over, your previous classes will be archived on NoRedInk and replaced with your classes for the new semester. If you’d like to reuse an assignment from an archived class, follow the directions in this article.

How do I create my classes for next semester or year?
At the beginning of the semester or year, your new classes will automatically be created based on the information in your school’s information system. Students will be auto-enrolled in the correct classes after they log in via your school’s Clever portal.

The names of my classes in NoRedInk seem to be incorrect. What can I do?
Your district may have reused the same Clever section from a previous year or period. Since we sync over the class name from Clever to NoRedInk only once, so as to not overwrite a new name you may have given to it in NoRedInk, the class name could be the same as it was in the previous year or period for the corresponding Clever section.
To find out the current name for the class in Clever, simply go to the "Manage Classes" page in NoRedInk and find the name as shown below. You may copy and edit this yourself!
How often does NoRedInk sync with Clever?
NoRedInk will sync with Clever roughly every 24 hours. If you are awaiting a roster update, it may take up to 24 hours to sync the changes to your NoRedInk dashboard.
Can I edit Clever-synced students and classes in NoRedInk?
Your classes will be created and your rosters populated automatically through the Clever integration and do not require any manual changes. You can rename your classes in NoRedInk, though these changes will not be reflected in Clever. You can also archive your Clever-synced classes.
What happens to student data when they change classes?
With Clever Secure Sync integration, you do not need to manually move students to new classes. When a student transfers between classes, their assignments and If you would like to keep a copy of your students’ grades or pass them along to another teacher, click here to learn how to download your grades before enrollment changes. Keep in mind that students’ mastery scores and interests do transfer with their accounts. A student's mastery data will automatically populate on the mastery tab of your "Student Data" page.
Can I link separate classes into a single class in NoRedInk?
Some teachers teach a single class section that has been entered in Clever by their district as multiple classes. For instance, a teacher may see an English 101 class along with an English 101 ELL class in NoRedInk.
If you are a teacher at a district who sends such separate classes to NoRedInk but you would like to manage them as a single class in NoRedInk, our Support Team can help! We highly recommend that you reach out with a request to link your classes before students begin any work. To submit a request, please complete this form and provide the following information:
- Which of your classes would you like to be your main class? (Provide the name of a single class.)
- Which of your other classes would you like to be treated as part of your main class? (Provide the name(s) of one or more classes.)
We’ll get back to you quickly and provide any next steps via email. Until you hear back from us, please refrain from assigning students work if possible.
Admin Questions
How does the NoRedInk and Clever Secure Sync integration work?
NoRedInk and Clever Secure Sync’s integration makes class management easy for Premium users. Using up-to-date information from your SIS (Student Information System), classes will be automatically created and teachers’ rosters updated regularly. NoRedInk will sync with Clever roughly every 24 hours.
- Teachers’ classes are automatically created in NoRedInk once teachers log in to NoRedInk via Clever.
- Class rosters are regularly synced to reflect enrollment adjustments.
- Students are automatically in the correct class(es) on NoRedInk once they log in to NoRedInk via Clever.
- Teachers and students can log in to NoRedInk using Clever SSO via your district's application portal.
