Overview
This article has information and instructions about using NoRedInk with Clever for roster syncing and single sign-on.
Clever integration including automatic course and roster syncing is currently available for Premium users only. To learn more about NoRedInk Premium, click here.
NoRedInk works with Clever to sync with your district or school’s information system for easy rostering and single-sign on:
- Classes automatically are created in NoRedInk.
- Class rosters are regularly updated to reflect enrollment adjustments.
- Students are automatically enrolled in the correct class(es).
- Students can log in to NoRedInk using Clever SSO via your district's application portal.
Teachers and students will be able to log in to NoRedInk from your district's Clever portal. Follow instructions below to learn how to either set up a brand new NoRedInk account that is connected with Clever or how to connect your existing NoRedInk with Clever.
I don’t have a NoRedInk account yet
- Log in to your school or district’s Clever Portal and click the NoRedInk app icon .
- Follow the steps on NoRedInk's welcome screen and set up your new NoRedInk account.
- New teachers will see the following welcome page to finish setting up their account.
- New students will see the following welcome page where they'll be prompted to select their NoRedInk Interests. Once students complete this step of account set up, they'll be redirected to their home page where any assigned work for their classes will appear.
I already have a NoRedInk account

My existing NoRedInk account uses the same email address as my Clever account
- Log in to your school or district’s Clever Portal and click the NoRedInk app icon .
- Clever should recognize that you already have a NoRedInk account that uses the same email address. Your account will automatically become linked with Clever.
- You can confirm that your account is associated with your Clever account by checking your Account Settings page in NoRedInk.
My existing NoRedInk account uses a different email address from my Clever account
Clever will not recognize that you already have a NoRedInk account if it uses a different email address or username from your Clever account. In this case, instead of starting from the Clever portal, you can enable Clever SSO and Clever Sync Secure by linking the accounts from your NoRedInk Account Settings page. Once the accounts are connected, you'll be able to use Clever SSO to log in.
- Log in to your existing NoRedInk account.
- Click on your name in the top right corner and choose “Settings”
- From your Account Settings page, click on the “Link with Clever account” option. You’ll be redirected to the Clever portal.
- Log in using your Clever username and password.
- Once this is complete, go to your Clever home page and find the NoRedInk icon. Click on the app icon . After this initial log in, your existing NoRedInk account will be linked with Clever.
💡After a teacher connects their account with Clever, Clever-synced classes should automatically populate in NoRedInk. There is no need to manually add classes or students for these courses. Similarly, students with an account connected with Clever will be automatically enrolled in their correct Clever-synced courses. There is no need to join using a class code or link.
- If you already had classes and assignments set up for this school year, connecting your account with Clever won’t affect the existing non-Clever classes. New, separate Clever Secure Sync classes will be created (classes cannot be merged). To prevent any confusion, we recommend archiving the duplicate non-Clever classes.
