While NoRedInk currently does not have a native spelling or grammar check tool, most internet browsers have a spellcheck feature enabled by default, which may be of assistance within Guided Drafts, Quick Writes, Peer Review, and Self Review activities. You'll know if spellcheck is currently turned on when you see a red-dotted underline beneath misspelled words.
See below for instructions on how to make sure this is enabled in the browser you are currently using! (Note: Because these are browser related features not built by NoRedInk, we can't guarantee functionality at this time.)
Enable spellcheck on Google Chrome
Mac
- Open Chrome, then click "Edit" at the top of your browser window.
- Hover your cursor over the "Spelling and Grammar" section.
- Finally, make sure that "Check Spelling While Typing" is checked off.
Windows/Chromebook
- Open Chrome, then click the three dots in the top right corner to reveal the menu.
- Next, click "Settings" near the bottom.

Note: Your language will need to be set to English (United States) for spellcheck to work. For more information on how to change your default language, please see this guide.
