If you are working on an exercise where you need to type the answer and you do not want your iPad or iPhone to automatically capitalize the answer, you might want to disable the "Auto-Capitalization" feature on your iPad or iPhone. Follow these instructions:
- Open the Settings app.
- Tap the section called "General."
- Tap "Keyboard."
- Tap "Auto-Capitalization" to toggle it off. The green switch will turn white.
If you continue to have trouble with the auto-capitalization, unselect the SHIFT key on the iPad's keyboard before typing to prevent the first letter from being capitalized. On some iPads, the SHIFT key could look like a short arrow.
