When co-teaching with Google Classroom-synced classes, all co-teacher updates must be made in Google Classroom in order for those changes to be reflected in NoRedInk.
As the primary teacher, there are two ways you can manage your co-teachers: You can change the primary teacher of a class and you can remove a co-teacher from a class entirely. Take a look below to learn how to use these management tools!
Change the primary teacher
When the primary teacher of a class changes, the ownership of the class passes to the new teacher. Here are the steps to change your primary teacher:
❗You cannot make a free user the primary teacher of a Premium class.
- Starting in Google Classroom, have your Google admin change the primary owner of the class you are no longer teaching.
- Once that change has been made, return to NoRedInk and navigate to the "Manage Classes" page.
- At the bottom of the list of classes, select the "Sync with Google Classroom" button.
- After Google Classroom and NoRedInk sync again, the class ownership will successfully transfer and your co-teacher will be the primary teacher.
Your role will be changed to a co-teacher for the class and you will still have access to the class and its data.
Remove a co-teacher
Removing a co-teacher will drop them from the class they share and they will immediately lose access to the class and its data. To remove a co-teacher, you can follow these steps:
- Starting in Google Classroom, have your Google admin remove the co-teacher from your class.
- Once that change has been made, return to NoRedInk and navigate to the "Manage Classes" page.
- At the bottom of the list of classes, select the "Sync with Google Classroom" button.
- After Google Classroom and NoRedInk sync again, the co-teacher will be removed from the shared class.
