As the primary teacher of a manually-created class in NoRedInk, there are two ways you can manage your co-teachers: You can change the primary teacher of a class and you can remove a co-teacher from a class entirely. Take a look below to learn how to use these management tools!
Change the primary teacher
When the primary teacher of a class changes, the ownership of the class passes to the new teacher. Here are the steps to change your primary teacher:
❗ You cannot make a free user the primary teacher of a Premium class.
- Head to your "Manage Classes" page.
- Locate the class with the co-teacher who is taking over the class.
- Select the gear icon to open the drop-down
- Select "Make primary teacher."
- A pop-up window will appear to confirm that you want to make this change.
- Confirm the primary teacher change.
- Once confirmed, that co-teacher will become the primary teacher and you will become a co-teacher for the class.
Your role will be changed to a co-teacher for the class and you will still have access to the assignments and student data.
💡 Co-teachers can turn themselves into a primary teacher at any time with the same steps above!
Remove a co-teacher
Removing a co-teacher will drop them from the class they share and they will immediately lose access to the class and its data. To remove a co-teacher, you can follow these steps:
- Head to your "Manage Classes" page.
- Locate the class with the co-teacher you wish to remove.
- Select the gear icon to open the drop-down
- Select "Remove from class."
- A pop-up window will appear to confirm that you want to make this change.
- Select "Remove" to confirm.
