With NoRedInk's Default Integration feature, administrators can establish standardized rostering and account creation/login across their Premium schools. This feature allows you to:
- Designate a specific integration as the default method for roster management
- Restrict teacher access to alternative rostering options
- Restrict account creation to only the services you select
- Ensure consistent data throughout your organization
Once you've set up a default integration, this setting will apply to all Premium schools in your district. All other options on the Integrations page of Account Settings will be grayed out, and teachers will be unable to select other integrations. Teachers and students will both be unable to create an account through any means other than what you selected.
This feature is available to premium schools/districts that use ClassLink, Clever, or Google Classroom for rostering and sign-on.
How does it work?
- The district will need to request via support ticket (support@noredink.com) the integration they wish to roster NoRedInk with
- The district will need to provide any domain(s) that a user could be associated with, such as coolschool.com and students.coolschool.com, as an example
- If you are rostering with Classlink, we will need to know the Classlink Tenant ID
- Unless requested, we will limit account sign-up/creation to the rostering integration
Example: If you request to roster with Clever, we will restrict users at your domain from registering for NoRedInk accounts using ClassLink, Google, or Username/E-Mail Address.
Why should we set this up?
Enabling our Default Integration configuration allows you to restrict teachers to the rostering integration you wish for them to use. Additionally, restricting account creation to the rostering service prevents users from signing up for an account with a service that isn't being used for rostering. This will eliminate instances, for example, where the teacher is rostering with Clever and the student signs up with Google. This will reduce confusion, as everyone will be rostered and their accounts linked to the correct services.
Teachers who have previously rostered classes through alternative methods, such as another integration or manually created, will receive a prompt to sign into the new default integration.
NoRedInk will then guide teachers through matching their existing classes with the newly created one, preserving student data and assignment history. You can learn more about how this impacts your teachers in our article on class matching!
