As a teacher, you can reset student scores to allow for retakes only on Quizzes and Diagnostics. By allowing a retake on these assignment types, you will give students the exact same quiz again, meaning they will see the same exact questions they saw before.
💡 We generally recommend this when extenuating circumstances or technical issues prevented the student from taking the quiz successfully in the first place.
When resetting an assessment, there are several factors to note:
- The original parameters are retained. If the due date has passed, you'll need to either edit the due date or enable late submissions to ensure student access.
- Resetting completely overwrites the original score. Make sure to record the initial score before resetting if you need to retain this information.
- If you want to keep the original score as a baseline and measure student growth, consider creating a Growth Quiz instead of resetting the assignment.
There are two ways to reset a student’s Quiz or Diagnostic score in NoRedInk:
- On the My Assignments page (for one or more students)
- On the "Student Data" page (for one student)
Let's take a look at how you can reset assessment scores below!
