Overview
If you are seeing an error message about enabling cookies, or are getting redirected to our homepage, it means we've detected that cookies are currently disabled. In this article, you'll learn how to enable cookies while using NoRedInk.
Why do cookies need to be enabled?
Cookies are identifiers that allow us to recognize your browser or device. They also help with things like knowing how to place students in the right class, remember selected NoRedInk Interests, and tracking student progress.
Enabling cookies for noredink.com
As long as you are not using an SSO or integration service with NoRedInk, you may only need to unblock cookies for the NoRedInk website. Select the browser you are using to find instructions below.
Go to the next set of instructions if you are using an integration or SSO service with NoRedInk.
Chrome

2. Select Settings.
3. Click the Advanced menu.
4. Click Privacy and security
5. Click Site settings in the "Privacy and security" section.
6. Click Cookies and site data, and add noredink.com with the Allow behavior, then click Done.
Safari
Safari on MacOS
- In Safari, go to www.noredink.com.
- Click the Safari menu and choose Preferences.
- Click the icon labeled Privacy.
- Under "Cookies and website data" select Allow from current website only (or select www.noredink.com from your list of websites).
Safari on iOS
- Open the Settings app.
- Tap Safari.
- Unselect "Block All Cookies"
Firefox
- Click the menu button and choose Preferences.
- Click Privacy & Security.
- Scroll to Cookies and Site Data.
- Check Accept cookies from sites and set Accept third-party cookies and site data to Never.
- Click Exceptions... and set www.noredink.com to Allow.
Microsoft Edge
Enabling cookies on the individual site level is not currently available on Microsoft Edge. Please see the steps below for unblocking cookies on all sites.
Enabling cookies when using NoRedInk with SSO or integration services (Google, Clever, or Canvas)
If you log in to your NoRedInk account through Google or if your district uses NoRedInk with an integration, you will need to have cookies enabled for your login provider (ex. Clever portal, Google) in addition to NoRedInk. Select the browser you are using to find instructions below.
Chrome
1. Click the menu icon icon in the top right corner of the browser toolbar, then select Settings.
2. Click Advanced, and then Privacy and security.
3. Click Site Settings... in the "Privacy and security" section.
4. Click Cookies and site data.
5. Make sure that Allow sites to save and read cookie data (1) is enabled, and Block third-party-cookies (2) is disabled.
Safari
Safari on MacOS
- Click the Safari menu and choose Preferences.
- Click the icon labeled Privacy.
- Under "Cookies and website data" select Allow from websites I visit.
Safari on iOS
- Open the Settings app.
- Tap Safari.
- Unselect "Block All Cookies"
If you're still seeing a cookie error while trying to access NoRedInk from an integration service such as Clever or Canvas, you may also need to disable the setting "Prevent cross-site tracking" in your Safari Privacy settings.
Firefox
- Click the menu button and choose Preferences.
- Click Privacy & Security.
- Scroll to Cookies and Site Data.
- Check Accept cookies from sites and set Accept third-party cookies and site data to Always.
Microsoft Edge
- Click the ... menu in the upper right of the browser window.
- Scroll down and click Settings.
- Scroll down and click View advanced settings.
- Change the setting for Cookies to Don't block cookies.
