While our product has historically focused on Grades 5-12, our new upper elementary offering is designed specifically for Grades 3-5. Here are some of the key differences:
Elementary-appropriate content
Our brand new Grades 3-5 activities are tailor-made for elementary students:
- Activities aligned with Grades 3-5 standards.
- Skills broken into smaller and simpler pieces.
- Engaging Quick Write prompts that include pictures.
- New colorful and engaging instructional tutorials.
- Students receive support from animated characters within practice.
Easy-to-use modules
New Grades 3-5 modules streamline instructional planning with collections of activities, instructional materials, and assessments that are all aligned to the same learning objective. See this article for more information.
New and improved tutorials
Tutorials are now more colorful and engaging. Use these to pre-teach new concepts or skills that will be reinforced throughout practice and writing activities. Tutorials are designed to support developing readers and include text-to-speech for all instructional text.
💡A selection of tutorials now includes instructional videos, and we’ll be adding more videos and tutorials throughout the school year.
Enhanced scaffolding
New practice topics provide targeted scaffolding to support students in the learning process. When students get a question wrong, they are asked a series of questions that guide them through the process of arriving at correct answers, transforming incorrect responses into genuine learning opportunities.
💡Scaffolding questions can be a useful tool for teachers helping struggling students. They can act as a script to use while guiding students through how to correctly apply a skill to a specific sentence.
Together, these new features transform writing instruction and help teachers foster lifelong writing skills in students in Grades 3-5.
