After you assign a planning diagnostic on NoRedInk and analyze the results, you might see that some students need more practice on specific topics. One way to differentiate for these students is to create an assignment and give it to just the subset of students that needs it.
To assign work just the students who need it, follow these steps.
- From your Dashboard, click “Assignments.”
- Click the Results icon that looks like a graph next to the planning diagnostic that you would like to analyze.
- Click “Start Unit" and select the type of the assignment that you would like students to do. You’ll then be taken to NoRedInk’s assignment creation form.
- Click the small blue arrow to the right of your class’s name to expand the class list.
- Notice that students’ skill level is called out the to right of their name. Check off only the students who you would like to assign. In the example below, the teacher might want to uncheck Kyle, Leonard, and Olivia's names, thereby excluding them from the assignment because they've mastered these topics on their diagnostic.
